Barbara’s first novel has been released internationally to bookstores by IFWG Publishing, and this South Australian author has a lot to be proud of!
The book details the story of Kira Stillwater, accused of using magic in her society by the fanatical dispatcher, Piscator, and then she is imprisoned for execution inside the brazen dragon. As she strives to control a magic that erupts whenever her life is threatened, Kira struggles to reconcile her burgeoning power with her healer’s ethics to do no harm; she must escape her enemies but also protect the fate of an entire Kingdom.
As for Barb herself; after a nursing career spanning more decades than she likes to admit, she retired to South Australia’s stunning Fleurieu Peninsula with her beautiful and slightly neurotic Australian Shepherd, Shiloh. Nestled between rolling hills and a panoramic coastline, she lives amidst the wetlands of an eco-friendly village, free to write the fantasy books she loves and always wanted to read.
When not at her desk, or spending time with friends and family, Barb enjoys early morning walks along the beach to watch the sunrise. Oh, and eating chocolate. Lots of chocolate.
The Brazen Dragon is her debut novel and is the first book in the Tangler’s Web trilogy. The second book, The Silver Thread, is due for release in July 2026
