A ‘Pretty Little Liar’ is en route to Supanova Comic Con & Gaming! Supa-Star Tammin Sursok has just been announced as the latest addition to our Brisbane line-up (6-7 November), along with a wealth of literary legends and comic book creatives!
Audiences first fell in love with Sursok via her portrayal of Dani Sutherland in the iconic Aussie series, Home and Away, appearing in nearly 300 episodes. From Summer Bay to Genoa City, Sursok found international success on the long-running soap opera classic, The Young and The Restless, before landing a leading role as Jenna Marshall on the smash-hit, Pretty Little Liars.
Joining the actress are some of the country’s most beloved authors, including Supa-Stars Amanda Bridgeman, Kim Wilkins and Isobelle Carmody. Bridgeman recently added a second Tin Duck Award to her belt, with a TV adaptation of her hit series, The Salvation, currently in development. She will appear ahead of her long-anticipated novel, Pandemic: Patient Zero, slated for release in 2022. Wilkins is perhaps best known for her fantasy series, Blood and Gold, the third installment of which, Queens of the Sea, was released in 2019. Carmody is a multi-disciplinary author, writing for readers of all ages, and has received critical acclaim for her Obernewtyn Chronicles. Her latest work, The Velvet City, is the final book in her award-winning The Kingdom of the Lost series.
Comic fans won’t want to miss returning faves Mark Raats, Adam and Wayne Nichols, Sid Stones, and Morrigan Moore, along with the team at IFWG Publishing Australia! Raats’ work has been immortalised through his contributions to the Star Wars cinematic universe, while the Nichols brothers have between them worked on everything from Ghostbusters to The Incredible Hulk. Stones is the powerhouse behind Petrie Press and the Banksia Project, and received a coveted Platinum Ledger Award in recognition of their contributions to the Australian comic book community. Moore is a previous recipient of a Banksia Project nomination, earned via her independent comic, Godslayers, and dabbles in everything from resin casting to woodworking. Meanwhile, IFWG continue their 2021 tour, with speculative fiction masters Brad Mengel, Helen Stubbs (Saturday only) and more still to be confirmed!
Finally, we’re delighted to welcome newcomers Talia Horsburgh and Shaun Sunday, who will make their Supa-Star debuts next month. Horsburgh, commonly known by the online alias ‘Orbitalswan’, is renowned for her manga-styled artwork, while Sunday is perhaps best known for his work in Project Starless Daydream, as well as his online comic book talk show, No Capes!.
Tickets to the event are on sale now, along with all new, strictly limited Supa-Star Lunch Experience packages, enabling fans to sit down for a catered meal with their favourite star! For all the latest guest announcements and event news, keep an eye on our social media channels!
