From world-class animation to nail-biting horror and more, Supanova Comic Con & Gaming’s talent-packed Showcase Australia! line-up at Sydney and Perth has something for everyone.

Shining a spotlight on some of Australia’s best film, television, animation and gaming, the program announcement follows on from filmmaking legend Alex Proyas (Dark City, The Crow, I, Robot) confirming his attendance at Supanova, appearing exclusively at in Sydney (21-22 June).

After making a splash at Melbnova back in March, shark thriller Fear Below will return to Supanova, with actor Maximillian Johnson and costumer designer Tracey Rose Sparke ready to dive into the action at Sydnova. Supa-Fans will also get the chance to reunite with the team at Sydney-based animation studio Flying Bark Productions.

A tribute to ‘80s Hong Kong action, the cast and crew of Tiger Cop: Project A will kick it with Sydney Supa-Fans with Adrian Castro (Director), Ranjeet Manjrekar (Actor), Theo Trevena (Fight Coordinator) and Adam Washbourne (Stunt Consultant/Actor) giving a masterclass on the genre, while paying tribute to the late Richard Norton, who starred in the short film.

Horror and thriller fans can meet the cast and crew from dystopian tragi-comic drama Residence, gaming thriller Backlash and black comedy Snatchers, the latter of which will also appear in Perth (28-29 June) and will have a booth in both cities!

Over in WA, Maria Tran will bring the high-energy storytelling of Asian-Australian action Echo 8 to Perthnova, joined by producer Michael Bozza.

Snatchers

Perth filmmaker Brad Newland will bring the cast and crew of his latest offering, Remotely Famous, to the show for a panel, where he’ll discuss making the film and give audiences an exclusive first glimpse into his brand-new feature.

WA gaming studio Octarine Arts will share a look at their upcoming release, online co-op Finch & Archie, which will see players hunting down a serial murderer in 1930s America as the titular detective and newly graduated police dog, while the Showcase Australia! line-up is rounded out by thrilling road trip short Don’t Talk About The Monster On The Roof.

The Showcase Australia! talent join previously announced Supa-Stars such as Outlander’s David Berry, Charles Vandervaart, and Sam Heughan, the latter of whom will attend exclusively as part of Kilted & Distilled: An Outlandish Adventure in Oz; the cast of Critical Role exclusively in Sydney; the MCU’s Evangeline Lilly, Doctor Who’s Alex Kingston, plus so many more!
