Representing the vital link between Supanova and the cosplay community, the Cosplay Ambassador Program offers established local cosplayers the unique chance to travel with us across Australia, sharing their experiences and enthusiasm with fans at each of our events.

Your duties as an Ambassador will include appearing at each of Supanova’s six shows throughout the year, presenting fun and informative panels, helping judge cosplay competitions, and engaging with the community at Cosplay HQ and beyond, with even more opportunities to get involved throughout the year!

If you’ve ever wanted to take your craft to the next level and become a part of the Supanova Team, don’t sleep on this once-in-a-lifetime role! Cosplay groups made up of two members are also welcome to apply if you’d prefer to take on the responsibility with a friend, so there’s never been a better time to get involved and showcase your skills on the road with us.

Please note that only one submission is required for group applications; however, make sure you have your friend’s permission before applying.

Duration

This is a time-limited role, typically lasting four (4) tours (i.e. eight Supanova events), with opportunities for extension based on performance. The position will commence in March 2025, and conclude at the end of the second show of Tour 1 2026 unless otherwise arranged, reporting directly to the Deputy Team Leader of the Community Department.

Requirements

The role of Cosplay Ambassador will require you to:

• Travel to local and interstate Supanova events, typically arriving on a Friday and leaving on a Monday.
• Assist in the delivery of Community Department items throughout our events (e.g. Cosplay-related panels, Cosplay Marshalling, etc).
• Present at least one (1) panel at each event you attend (pending panel schedule availability), with presentation details and/or AV assets (i.e. PowerPoint presentations) to be supplied by internal deadlines.
• Promote upcoming Supanova events exclusively across your social media channels in the lead-up to each event, prioritising the Supanova brand and refraining from endorsing or promoting any competing events, brands, or entities within the industry throughout the course of your Ambassadorship.
• Where possible, attend and/or assist in coordinating related activities as required throughout the year (e.g. Hospital visits with cosplayers, photoshoots, etc.).
• Be willing and able to provide guidance and encouragement to members of the cosplay and wider community.
• Possess a thorough understanding of Community Department items (e.g. how Cosplay Registrations work, Steamkittens’ queueing system, etc.), with a reasonable understanding of wider show offerings and operations.
• Assist in Cosplay HQ set-up and bump-out as required.
• Keep confidential the processes, intellectual property, shared knowledge, and any other spoken, written, electronic or published information that pertains to the operation of Supanova Comic Con & Gaming.
• Uphold the values, ethics and principles of the organisation, while conducting yourself in a manner that maintains its integrity and good reputation.

To be eligible for the Cosplay Ambassador Program, applicants must currently reside in Australia as an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or hold a current Australian visa with work rights. Applicants must have completed Year 12 or its equivalent to meet the necessary qualifications for this role.

Compensation

This is a paid position, with further details to be supplied to successful applicants. In addition to your Tour Fee, Supanova will cover the costs of:

• All flights to and from your home state when travelling interstate for any of our events, meetings or training.
• All fuel charges when driving from your hometown to any events, meetings or training that are further than 50km away.
• All accommodation when travelling from your hometown to any of our events, meetings or training where overnight stay is required.

Cosplay Ambassadors’ attendance will be promoted across social media and the Supanova website in the lead-up to each event, either individually or in a group, with the expectation that these items are also shared in a timely manner by the Cosplay Ambassador.
