Supanova Comic Con & Gaming is set to double your fun, next month, after more than doubling up the number of Supa-Star guests announced to appear at their Sydney (18-19 June) and Perth (25-26 June) events!
Instantly recognisable for their portrayals of Fred and George Weasley in the wildly successful Harry Potter film series, James and Oliver Phelps quickly became fan-favourites for their mischievous Hogwarts hijinks. The pair have since appeared alongside Thomasin McKenzie, Anya Taylor-Joy and Matt Smith in last year’s BAFTA-nominated drama, Last Night in Soho, with co-starring roles on the horizon in Own Worst Enemy, currently in post-production.
The magic continues with Merlin’s Eoin Macken who’s best known for his role as Sir Gwaine in the BBC fantasy series as well as heartthrob TC Callahan in the medical drama The Night Shift. Most recently he can be seen weekly in the fantastical TV drama La Brea starring as Gavin Harris.
“It’s game time” for sci-fi fans, who won’t want to miss industry veteran Michael Biehn, renowned for his roles as Corporal Hicks in Aliens ,The Terminator’s time-traveling hero Kyle Reese, Johnny Ringo in Tombstone, Lieutenant Coffey in The Abyss and many more, along with recent appearance in The Mandalorian and The Walking Dead. The star will appear alongside Jennifer Blanc-Biehn, perhaps best known to genre enthusiasts for her work on the award-winning TV series Dark Angel.
Meanwhile, “The Last Australian” makes his first appearance with the convention, as Supanova welcomes Aaron Glenane to its Supa-Star line-up! Portraying the Aussie “tailie” in TNT’s ongoing adaptation of Snowpiercer, Glenane will soon star in Netflix’s hotly-anticipated June release, Interceptor, penned and directed by New York Times bestselling author Matthew Reilly. Then there’s the “most Australian”, John Jarratt, whose seminal role in Wolf Creek is another feather in the cap that boasts some of the most iconic Aussie films ever made including Picnic at Hanging Rock, Summer City, and more.
Appearing exclusively in Sydney, fans will have the opportunity to meet The Matrix’s Matt Doran along with The Hobbit alum Stephen Hunter. Not to be outdone, Perth will set the stage for Power Rangers: Ninja Storm’s Glenn McMillan, making his first-ever West Coast appearance with Supanova Comic Con & Gaming.
Finally, whether you’re a science fiction lover or a hardcore gamer, you won’t want to miss returning international guest Lucie Pohl, headed to both cities! Pohl is the voice of support hero, Mercy, in the hit video game Overwatch, and notably featured in the UK cult classic Red Dwarf XI.
