UPDATE 15/03/21: Due to scheduling conflicts, Adam Tuominen will be unable to attend our new dates for Melbourne, this May. He sends his apologies to Victorian fans, and looks forward to seeing those of you headed to the Gold Coast in April!
At the beginning of March, Supanova Comic Con & Gaming unveiled plans to forge ahead with our Melbourne and Gold Coast events scheduled for April, pending governmental approval of their COVID-19 Safety measures. Since the announcement, fans have been waiting with bated breath at the prospect of Supanova’s first pop culture celebrations since this time last year.
We’re thrilled to announce that the Queensland Government is happy for us to proceed with our plans formulated with the GCCEC, and our Gold Coast event will be forging ahead on 17 – 18 April! You can find a full breakdown of the COVID-19 safety policies and procedures that will be in place for attendees on our website.
Unfortunately, the Victorian Government has contacted us to say that they will need additional time to review our application and won’t be able to give us a response until the end of March, leaving us less than two weeks to finalise our preparations, without certainty of outcome in the meantime. In the interest of providing the best possible Supanova experience for you, our Supa-Fans, we have therefore made the decision to reschedule our Melbourne show to 22 – 23 May.
Fans who were excited to meet previously announced guests need not despair, however! We’re endeavouring to maintain as much of the existing line-up as possible, with Supa-Stars Miranda Otto, David Wenham, Elizabeth Blackmore and Spike Spencer having already enthusiastically signed on for our new dates in May! Adam Tuominen has an exciting new role that will regrettably prevent him from attending, but he still looks forward to meeting those of you heading to the Gold Coast.
It’s a bumpy road getting events back up and running in a way that’s both safe and to the standard that fans have always enjoyed. We thank our fans for their continued support as we work towards the Gold Coast, next month, and Melbourne this May!
