About Guest
Melissa has been cosplaying for more than a decade, attending her first con – Supanova! – in 2003.
She has come a long way since the early days of spray painting her hair in lieu of wearing wigs (don’t remind her) and credits a love of a challenge for her progress.
Her cosplay career has taken her through dozens of costumes and, combined with her love of travel, international conventions such as Dragon*Con, NYCC and D23 Expo. These days Melissa favours comic books and Disney movies as her sources of inspiration, while her family and colleagues have long since given up on her “growing up” and out of the hobby.
By day Melissa is a fully-registered psychologist and is passionate about mental health and positivity in the cosplay community. She joined the Supanova team previously to help attendees in need and will be expanding her role moving forward to assist the community wherever she can.
