Samantha looks forward to meeting all her fans in Brisbane in November 2017.
Samantha will conduct a general admission Q&A, and participate in signing sessions on Friday (2:00pm to 5:30pm), and throughout Saturday (10.30am to 5.30pm) and Sunday (11am to 5pm) in Brisbane.
Samantha “Mamath” Calcraft is a Brisbane-based artist with a ton of ambition and not nearly enough time. Though best known for designing plush toy characters (Boxfox being the most popular), Mamath also makes everything from short comics to enamel pins.
She’ll try anything once! If you like colourful designs, cool creatures and quirky characters, you may enjoy the work of Mamath.
Sam co-published the indie comics anthology Starrytellers with Alisha Jade in 2015 and hopes to organise more anthologies in the near future. She’s also self-published a bunch of short comics and art zines featuring her own artwork. On top of that, Sam also runs the indie comics market event Comicstreet each year.
Mamath’s current big comics projects are an anthology of 24-HR comics from the past 5 years and a long-form comic about a violinist fox. Outside of comics, she’s also working on developing a line of unusual and colourful socks for children and adults alike.
