“This time there’s more”, Supa-Fans! As Supanova Comic Con & Gaming prepares to blast into Adelaide (30 Oct – 1 Nov 2026) and Brisbane (6-8 Nov 2026), Australia’s premier pop culture convention has once again upped the ante, announcing the Colonial Marines of Aliens, celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2026.
Leading the Supa-Star charge in both cities is Mark Rolston, Private Drake in the Academy Award-winning film. A veteran of the industry, Rolston has made his mark across the sci-fi sphere in The X-Files, Star Trek, Babylon 5, Ahsoka, and more, featuring as the original Alistair in The CW’s Supernatural. He can be seen in further big screen blockbusters including The Shawshank Redemption, The Departed, and Rush Hour, also lending his voice to iconic characters such as Commissioner Gordon, Norman Osborne, Lex Luthor, and Deathstroke.
Rolston is joined by another giant of the genre and fellow onscreen Colonial Marine, Jenette Goldstein a.k.a. Private Vasquez. Best known for her role as the fan-favourite smart gunner, Goldstein has appeared in some of history’s most influential futurist flicks, portraying John Connor’s foster mother, Janelle Voight, in Terminator 2: Judgment Day, with additional roles in Near Dark, Lethal Weapon 2, Star Trek, and X-Men: Next Dimension.
Also dropping in from LV-426, Aliens fans won’t want to miss Daniel Kash, Private Spunkmeyer in the action-packed sci-fi sequel. Supa-Fans will have seen him Star Trek: Discovery, The Expanse, Orphan Black, The Strain, plus more, with notable parts in Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam and Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate – Jack the Ripper.
Meanwhile, Brisbane con-goers will have the chance to catch the “Zen Master” of the 2nd Battalion Bravo Team, Private Frost a.k.a. Ricco Ross. Whovians will recognise Ross as Doctor Who’s Ringmaster from the late 1980s, with roles in Babylon 5, The Dirty Dozen: Next Mission, and Mission: Impossible, as well as the Highlander TV series.
Cynthia Dale Scott (Corporal Dietrich) rounds out the USCM Supa-Stars in both cities, otherwise known for her appearances in Invasion Earth: The Aliens Are Here, Mr. Belvedere and Night of the Demons. But what is Aliens without a Xenomorph? Fans can go behind the scenes with the man behind the suit, Carl Toop, who portrayed the Alien Warrior in pivotal scenes throughout the film.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest sequels of all time, this is a rare opportunity for sci-fi cinephiles to meet the cast of James Cameron’s 1986 blockbuster. Aliens isn’t the only film celebrating its 40th anniversary at Supanova, however. Highlander fans can also join the milestone moment with Christopher Lambert, previously announced for Adelaide and Brisbane, alongside sci-fi Supa-Stars Anson Mount (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds) and Alan Tudyk (Firefly, Resident Alien), The Lord of the Rings’ Elijah Wood and Sean Astin, plus so many more.
