They’re Taking The Hobbits To Adelaide! Billy Boyd Announced For Sunday, 1 November

Written by Supanova Comic Con & Gaming - October 21, 2026Maddie Purdon

Not long now, Supa-Fans! Experience the magic of Middle-earth when the ultimate Fellowship of Fandom, Supanova Comic Con & Gaming, returns to Adelaide next week, 30 October – 1 November, before making the (un)expected journey to Brisbane, 6-8 November 2026!

While an upcoming project has seen the cancellation of Rider of Rohan Karl Urban’s single-day stop in Adelaide, in his place comes another The Lord of the Rings legend, Billy Boyd, making his first Supanova appearance since 2011.

Best known as Peregrin “Pippin” Took in Peter Jackson’s Academy Award-winning trilogy, Boyd’s portrayal of the Fellowship’s tiny troublemaker immediately cemented him as a fantasy fan-favourite. From Hobbit to horror, the star also famously lent his voice to Glen and Glenda in the Child’s Play sequel, Seed of Chucky; the perfect send-off for this year’s Halloween!

Appearing exclusively on Sunday, 1 November at the Adelaide Showground, Boyd is just the latest Lord of the Rings alum to sign on for Supanova. Also set to attend across the weekend is fellow Hobbit from the Shire, Samwise Gamgee a.k.a. Sean Astin, alongside franchise co-stars Kiran Shah (also of Aliens and Star Wars fame), Bruce Hopkins (Xena: Warrior Princess), The Hobbit trilogy’s Jed Brophy and Stephen Hunter, Shane Rangi (The Chronicles of Narnia), with Graham McTavish (Outlander) only in Brisbane.

Turning the page to Literary Legends, T.R. Napper joins previously announced Supa-Star author Stacey McEwan in both cities, with his award-nominated Aliens: Bishop in tow. Novalaide’s novelists include Christy Anne Jones (Theodora’s Tea Shop), Braidee Otto (Myths of the Empyrieos series), Alina Bellchambers (The Order of Masks), Friday-exclusives Adam Cece (Huggabie Falls series) and Mike Lucas (Where is Cheeky Monster?), plus Margot McGovern (This Stays Between Us) only on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Brisbane’s QBD Literary Legends stand will be home to Li Chen (Detective Beans series, Fri/Saturday only), Jaymin Eve (Supernatural Academy), Lauren Jackson (The Red Thorne series), Amy Doak (Eleanor Jones Is Not A Murderer), Neal Shusterman (Arc of a Scythe series, Saturday only), and Shailee Thompson (How to Kill a Guy in Ten Dates, Sunday only).

With just over a week to go until the fandom festivities kick off, now is the perfect time to secure your Tickets and Tokens. Day and Weekend Passes are on sale now for both cities, with strictly limited VIP Passes remaining for Adelaide. Fans can even immortalise their moment with their favourite star by grabbing an Autograph or Photo-Op, available to purchase via Leap Event Technology.
