In a massive coup we’ve secured two amazing exclusive guests, one each for Gold Coast and Melbourne, plus a number more that will be attending both events.
Beginning in Melbourne, Natalie Dormer (Game of Thrones, The Hunger Games), who is currently filming the television series Picnic at Hanging Rock in Victoria, will appear exclusively on Sunday afternoon 30th April, to chat to fans in a Q&A, sign autographs and pose for studio portraits.
Gold Coast fans can also celebrate with Pan’s Labyrinth’s Ivana Baquero be joining them from the set of fantasy-epic The Shannara Chronicles, which is filming its second season in New Zealand. Fans of both the book and the TV series will be delighted to further discover that fellow star Manu Bennett (Arrow, The Hobbit, Spartacus) will be joining author Terry Brooks – already announced – in both cities as well.
Supanova will also host some of Australia’s best rising talent giving locals a chance to celebrate their success with them as Home and Away alumni Luke Mitchell (Blindspot, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Tomorrow People); are Rebecca Breeds (The Originals, Pretty Little Liars) take their careers from strength to strength.
Supergirl’s James Olsen (and vigilante alter ego, Guardian), Mehcad Brooks, also joins the lineup. Fans will recognise him from his previous roles on Necessary Roughness, True Blood, and Desperate Housewives.
And in major news, coming on board as Supanova’s first ever official Supanova Star Ambassador is screen veteran John Jarratt (Wolf Creek, Boar), who will be spending 2017 understanding what it means to totally ‘geek-out’ at Supanova. Jarratt will join the event, appearing at each of their expos throughout 2017 to meet fans and deliver a unique, behind-the-scenes take on the convention scene from his own perspective.
Supanova’s Artist Alley is looking mighty heroic too, with the following comic book creators confirmed: Tom Taylor (All-New Wolverine), David Yardin (Jean Grey), Dean Rankine (Simpsons Comics), Alisha Jade (Starrytellers), Paul Abstruse (My Little Pony), ]Gregory Mackay (Anders and the Comet).
Appearing as Gold Coast exclusives are: Adam Nichols (Star Wars: The Force Unleashed), Stewart McKenny (DC Super Friends), and Wayne Nichols (Orphan Black); while Melbourne exclusives include: Mike Krome (Ancient Dreams), Darren Close (Killeroo), Martin Abel (Nightmares & Visions), and Jeffrey Cruz (Streetfighter).
Supanova’s Book Club also has some new additions to its lineup, with Jodi McAlister (Valentine); Gold Coast exclusive Sulari Gentill (A Few Right Thinking Men), and Melbourne exclusives Darrell Pitt (A Toaster on Mars), and Marlee Jane Ward (Welcome to Orphancorp).
Unfortunately Sean Astin has had to postpone his appearance due to a clash with filming commitments. He sends his apologies and hopes to return as soon as he is able.
