With Supanova 2023 – Gold Coast (15-16 April) and Melbourne (22-23 April) rapidly approaching, we’ve set our sights on the next events on our 2023 calendar: Sydney (17-18 June) and Perth (24-25 June)!
Showing fans “who’s the boss” in both cities, the ever-charming Alyssa Milano leads our first wave of Supa-Star guest announcements for June. After quickly rising to fame via ‘80s and ‘90s classics Who’s the Boss? and Melrose Place, Milano captured the hearts of genre fans as Phoebe Halliwell in the mega-hit Charmed.
Also joining our midyear convention coven is Michelle Gomez, a.k.a. The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’s Mary Wardwell. Whovians will recall Gomez from her stint as Missy on Doctor Who, while DC fans may know her better as Madame Rouge in Doom Patrol. Meanwhile, Grease is the word for T-Bird alumnus Barry Pearl a.k.a. “Doody”, who will celebrate the film’s 45th anniversary in both Sydney and Perth.
The last time Supa-Fans caught Teen Wolf star Tyler Hoechlin, he was preparing to save the Arrowverse from a Crisis on Infinite Earths. Now, the CW’s Superman returns alongside his Superman & Lois co-star and first-time Supa-Star Elizabeth “Bitsie” Tulloch, otherwise known for her long-running role as Juliette Silverton on Grimm.
Also set to appear are Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir co-stars Cristina Vee and Faye Mata. With over 500 voice-over roles between the pair, including Sailor Moon, Love Live! School Idol Project, Genshin Impact and more, anime and gaming enthusiasts won’t want to miss them!
Finally, comic collectors will have the opportunity to greet the legendary Kevin Eastman, co-creator of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He will appear opposite fellow international Supa-Star and Batman/TMNT artist Freddie Williams II, as well as local legend Jon Sommariva of Batman/TMNT Adventures fame.
Fans will also be able to catch Syzygy Publishing co-founders and the self-described “Eisner-losing team” of Chris Ryall and Ashley Wood. An imprint of Image Comics, Syzygy has been home to titles such as Joe Hill’s Rain, Ryall and Wood’s Zombies vs Robots Classic, and more, with their most recent title being Tales of Syzpense.
Admission Tickets are expected to go on sale shortly, with Autograph Tokens and Photo-Ops to follow closer to the events in June. For all the latest news and information, stay tuned to Supanova’s social media channels.
