Whether he’s riding shotgun in the Millennium Falcon, piloting a giant Jaeger or fending off a horde of attacking aliens, there’s no mistaking recent Supa-Star John Boyega. First rising to attention as Moses in the 2011 horror comedy Attack the Block, he would later be thrust into the international spotlight as the First Order stormtrooper turned Resistance fighter, Finn, a role he would later follow up with Jake Pentecost, the son of Idris Elba’s Marshal Stacker Pentecost, in 2018’s Pacific Rim: Uprising. Photo by James Somerville I’m shooting a horror film next — something I’ve always wanted to try. Attack the Block 2 is still on the way after first being announced in 2021, how keen are you to revisit Moses after all these years? Can’t wait. Wouldn’t have done it without the original director. The first draft is fantastic. Which of your various co-stars has been the most fun to work with on set? Working with Harrison Ford was surreal — it’s freakin’ Indiana Jones. What is the best thing a fan has ever gifted you at a convention over the years? I’ve got the best fans. Some Star Wars collectibles I’d never even seen before. What’s your go-to comfort movie or TV show when you’re off-duty? Right now, The Walking Dead. It’s crazy good. What’s one thing about you that fans would be surprised to learn? I’m a huge gamer.
