After charming Supa-Fans at Melbnova last month, the Prince of Auradon, Mitchell Hope himself, will sing and dance his way to Supanova on the Gold Coast (12-13 April).
Ahead of the Descendants star’s arrival at Goldnova, Supanova caught up with the Aussie fan-fave to talk all about the beloved Disney franchise, Christmas movies and more!
Descendants has such a dedicated fanbase – why do you think it connected as much as it did?
“I think we all connect with Descendants because we’ve known and loved these characters for so long, so it’s so exciting to see the continuation of their stories in a live-action setting. Plus, the musical aspect is such a fun way of expressing it!”

What did you find most interesting about Ben’s journey?
“To me, the most interesting part about Ben as a whole is his journey into becoming a king and into becoming his own man.”
How was it returning to voice Ben in The Royal Wedding?
“It was so much fun! Any chance I get to return to Auradon is such a wonderful experience and one that I always look forward to.”
What impact has the role had on your life?
“Descendants has completely changed my life! I went from bartending in Melbourne to shooting films all around the world! I can’t even begin to explain every single detail on how much these films have influenced my life – I’m so grateful for everything!”
Let It Snow also had a massive response. What did you enjoy most about that film?
“Working on Let It Snow was such a blast; I had such a great time and made so many amazing friends. I suppose it was similar to Descendants in a way that it felt like going to summer camp with all your best friends and hanging out for two months straight!”
What’s your favourite Christmas film and why?
“My favourite Christmas film is probably a tie between A Nightmare Before Christmas and Die Hard, and before you say anything – yes, Die Hard is a Christmas film.”
We’ll be hosting a Killer Whale panel at Supanova on the Gold Coast. What can you tease about your role in that film?
“I don’t want to give away too much, but I will say that I look very different in Killer Whale compared to my other films! I can’t wait to tell everyone some more details at my panel.”
Mitchell Hope will appear at Supanova on the Gold Coast (12-13 April).
