UPDATE 30/05/22: Unfortunately, Nicholas Hammond is no longer able to join us at Supanova in Sydney and Perth, this June. He sends his apologies to fans, and we look forward to hosting Nicholas again sometime in the near future.
Marking the 20th anniversary of Australia’s biggest and best pop culture convention, June is set to be a celebration of all things fandom, as Supanova Comic Con & Gaming returns to Sydney (June 18-19) and Perth (June 25-26) with a Supa-Star line-up you won’t want to miss!
Smallville’s Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum lead the charge, making good on their promise to return after the pandemic put a pin in their last scheduled appearance in 2020. Best known for their portrayals of iconic DC characters Clark Kent and Lex Luthor respectively, Welling traded in his capes and tights for a villainous stint as Marcus Pierce in Lucifer, while Rosenbaum can be seen as Martinex in Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.
Supernatural’s King of the Crossroads, Supa-Star Mark Sheppard, is also set to return. Beloved for his mischievous depiction of the demon Crowley, Sheppard has featured in countless fan-favourites, including The X-Files, Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica, and most recently Doom Patrol.
After ‘Amazing’ Supa-Fans in Melbourne and on the Gold Coast, TV’s original Peter Parker, Nicholas Hammond, is set to make an encore visit to the convention. The Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood actor will attend alongside Emilie de Ravin, best known for her roles in Lost, Roswell, and a very different Once Upon a Time, in which she assumed the mantle of fairytale heroine Belle.
Not to be outdone, local legends Lincoln Lewis and Todd Lasance are also back for more, exclusively in Sydney! The Summer Bay celebs, both of whom made their starts in the Aussie institution Home and Away, will soon appear together in the upcoming action/drama Black Site.
Finally, having first appeared in Sydney 2002 as one of Supanova’s inaugural guests, it’s only fitting that the convention welcomes back voice acting legend Veronica Taylor for both Sydney and Perth! The voice behind many a Supa-Fan’s childhood, Taylor starred as Ash Ketchum in the hugely successful English-language dub of Pokémon, as well as April O’Neil in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
With plenty of film and TV stars, authors and comic book creators still to come, Supanova’s 20th anniversary is shaping up to be an unmissable event. Admission tickets are expected to go on sale on Thursday, 28 April via Moshtix, with Autographs, Photo-ops and Specialty Passes to follow closer to June. For all the latest information, keep across the Supanova social media channels.
