Supa-Fans will get an exclusive first look at upcoming Aussie thriller Bring Him to Me as part of Supanova’s Australian Film Showcase on the Gold Coast (15-16 April 2023).
Acclaimed filmmaker Luke Sparke (Occupation: Rainfall, Occupation, Red Billabong) has a number of exciting reveals planned for this weekend’s event.
At the Sparke Films booth, fans will be able to check out the actual car from the film and get a first look at its poster, which Sparke, alongside star Jamie Costa – who went viral in 2021 for his incredible proof of concept short film for a proposed Robin Williams biopic – will be signing all weekend.
Both Sparke and Costa – joined by Supa-Star Liam McIntyre (Spartacus, The Flash, Gears of War) who also stars in the film – will take part in a Bring Him to Me panel on Saturday, 15 April at 2:30pm on the Supanova Seminars stage, where a first-look trailer will make its debut.
But before that, Sparke and Costa will take to the Supanova Seminars earlier that same day at 10:30am for a special panel that details a Star Wars fan’s journey into filmmaking; Costa also known for YouTube Star Wars fan films Kenobi and Han Solo: A Smuggler’s Trade.
ABOUT ‘BRING HIM TO ME’
Under orders from a ruthless crime boss, a getaway driver must battle his conscience and drive a young and unsuspecting passenger to an uncertain fate in Bring Him to Me. Written by Tom Evans and directed by Luke Sparke, the script was inspired by the traumatic scene in Martin Scorsese’s Casino in which Nicky Santoro (Joe Pesci) unwittingly turns up for a meeting in a cornfield and things go south.
The film stars Barry Pepper (Saving Private Ryan, The Green Mile, Maze Runner), Sam Neill (Jurassic Park, Peaky Blinders, The Piano), Rachel Griffiths (Hilary & Jackie, Six Feet Under, Brothers and Sisters), Liam McIntyre (Spartacus, The Flash), Jamie Costa (Kenobi, Outpost) and more.
Bring Him to Me is just one of the exciting projects that Sparke currently has on the go, having recently revealed that action/thriller Fight for Your Life is in pre-production. Sparke has also been announced as the director of Hollywood action film Shadow Chases AND is currently developing two Rainfall sequels alongside Primitive War and Weapons of Choice.
