Supanova Comic Con & Gaming’s upcoming Sydney and Perth events just got all the more magical, with exclusive Friday night Q&As just announced featuring Harry Potter Supa-Stars James and Oliver Phelps!
Fans of the famous Phelps twins may recall that their last scheduled trip to Australia did not go exactly as planned. In a statement provided to Supanova, the pair expressed their dissatisfaction with the circumstances surrounding the canceled Quiz Show of Magic and Wizards events:
“Unfortunately, our planned trip on a speaking tour didn’t happen due to several reasons, but what shouldn’t [have happened] was our fans not [being] returned their ticket money. Although there was nothing we or our team could do in terms of refunds [for] the event, we still feel the disappointment of our fantastic fans.”
In an effort to still deliver an incredible evening to their kind and hard-working fans, James and Oliver will be offering a complimentary Q&A panel on the Friday night of Supanova in both Sydney (17 June) and Perth (24 June), exclusively available to unrefunded ticketholders of the ill-fated Quiz Show of Magic and Wizards events.
While the Q&A is free of charge and does not require a Supanova admission ticket to attend, online registration is essential to reserve your seat. Fans who did not receive a refund for their Quiz Show tickets can confirm their attendance at An Evening with James & Oliver Phelps in either city now via the Supanova website. Fans who did receive a refund can apply to go on a waitlist for admission.
Commencing at 7pm in both cities, it’s set to be a wonderful night for fans of the Wizarding World, where the stars who portrayed Fred and George Weasley in the Harry Potter film series will regale audiences with tales of their mischievous Hogwarts hijinks. While photo-ops and autographs will not be available on the Friday nights, Supanova attendees will be able to purchase these for redemption throughout the weekend in Sydney and Perth.
“We always treat people how we wish to be treated,” said the twins, “and we hope this will bring some joy to those who lost out.”
Since rising to fame in the mega-hit franchise, James and Oliver have gone on to appear alongside Thomasin McKenzie, Anya Taylor-Joy and Matt Smith in last year’s BAFTA-nominated drama, Last Night in Soho, and their upcoming travel program (title to be confirmed) will be broadcast globally later this year.
