In a last minute coup Supanova Comic Con & Gaming have signed on Supa-Stars Ian Somerhalder and Millie Bobby Brown for their upcoming pop culture events in Melbourne (6-7 April) and the Gold Coast (13-14 April).
Somerhalder is best known as the leading heartthrob in television’s The Vampire Diaries and the hotly anticipated V-Wars, while Bobby Brown – who is a Sunday-only exclusive for Melbourne’s event – is Tinsel Town’s hottest property, coming into fame as Eleven on Stranger Things and the epic feature film Godzilla: King of Monsters.
Further to their appearances, Somerhalder’s The Vampire Diaries co-star Nathaniel Buzolic (The Originals) and Steven Strait of The Expanse will also be making their way to Melbourne and the Gold Coast.
In what is shaping up to be an incredibly celebrity lineup, Supanova will also celebrate the 40th Anniversary of George Miller’s Mad Max franchise, with appearances from some of the original cast including Steve Bisley (Jim Goose), Hugh Keays-Byrne (Toecutter, Immortan Joe), Paul Johnstone (Cundalini), Vince Gil (Nightrider), and stuntman Dale Bensch all appearing in Melbourne, while Steve and Hugh will be joined by The Scorpion King’s Nathan Jones (Rictus Erectus) on the Gold Coast.
The 40th Anniversary celebration will also feature a display in each city, where fans can get their photo with an Interceptor, and other notable vehicles from film and TV.
Sadly, Camila Mendes and Jordan Connor have had to postpone their appearance with Supanova in April, due to the unfortunate events that have impacted the Riverdale production schedule.
Supanova is a celebration of fandom, where the worlds of film and television, fantasy, comic books, anime, sci-fi, cartoons, books, gaming and collectables comes to life! There’s something for everyone, including ‘cosplay’ (costume-role play), fan clubs, musical performances, creative master classes, celebrity Q&As, wrestling, tournaments, competitions and an event full of shopping possibilities.
