Pokémon GO’s Halloween Event Is The Perfect Time To Revisit The App

October 26, 2017Skye Bristow

Story by Liam Oliver

Whack on your runners and charge up those USB power banks because Pokémon GO’s Halloween update is live!

Several spooky Pokémon have become much more common, including Cubone, Drowzee and Gastly and you’ll find a few ghostly newcomers from Gen 3 making an appearance, such as Sableye and Banette. These guys are paving the way for the rest of the Hoenn region Gen 3 Pokémon, who will be introduced around December.

Pikachus found during the Halloween event will sport a very fashionable witch hat and players can even deck out their avatar with a ‘Mimikyu’s Disguise Hat’. In addition, the candy rewards have been doubled, meaning you can catch, transfer and hatch to your heart’s content. These rewards will also be increased for your Buddy Pokémon, meaning they too will also find extra candy.

Finally, the in-game shop will be decked out with ‘special boxes’ from the in-game shop, featuring items such as raid passes and super incubators.

If you haven’t touched the app since its initial launch, then now may be the best time to get back in. There’s a stack of rewards, the introduction of favourites from Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire and more.

Pokémon GO’s Halloween update will run until November 3.
