Robbie Daymond is a Supa-Star you’ve probably already heard all about, and if not, with the wide array of appearances and voice acting roles he has, we’re confident you’ve seen at least one series he’s been in, even if you didn’t know it! But amongst all his roles across video games, anime, movies, and TV, many have come to know him through his appearances in the much-adored web series Critical Role.
Critical Role needs little introduction, but for those who may be behind, it’s a series that sees a diverse cast of voice actors venture through various Dungeons and Dragons campaigns inclusive of all the riveting antics you’ve come to expect from DnD, but with a more refined, professional twist than usual.
Daymond made an appearance as a guest star in Critical Role’s Exandria Unlimited miniseries and stuck around through parts of the third campaign of Critical Role with his charming Genasi bard, Dorian Storm.
Dorian was a highly adored addition to the Critical Role cast due to Daymond’s ability to seamlessly sync with his fellow players and bring out the jovial fun and optimism needed for any successful campaign. Dorian was a bard that was both eloquent and charismatic, while sometimes also meek and awkwardly endearing. These opposing personality traits were the sure-fire recipe for outstanding roleplay.
Dorian was very much contributing to the heart of the group, and Daymond managed to do something very special by serving as the guest star that made it all too easy to forget he was a guest star. He meshed effortlessly well with the beloved main cast of Critical Role in ways which went beyond just a temporary appearance. Dorian became an original member of the Bells Hells team and Daymond cemented himself in Critical Role history. Upon the character’s eventual departure in 2022, fans were left hoping he would make a return.
Recently, the return of Daymond and his character Dorian to Critical Role has finally occurred, igniting even more excitement for fans as they witnessed the long-awaited reunion. With much speculation by fans on how involved Daymond will be with Critical Role going forward and whether or not Dorian will see through the end of the third campaign, one thing is certain: everyone is hoping he and Dorian stick around for the long run.
Through Robbie Daymond’s skilful expertise in character building, voice acting, and creativity, he is able to breathe life into every role he adopts. We can see this not only through his bard Dorian Storm, but through all of his works. Dorian is such a memorable and loveable character that spans beyond just a Critical Role guest star because Daymond himself so effortlessly connects with his fellow castmates and brings an entertaining flair.
