The Hobbit actor and Supa-Star favourite Graham McTavish dropped some exciting news via Twitter earlier this month, confirming he’ll appear in a yet-to-be-detailed role in DC’s upcoming Aquaman film.
The film, starring Jason Momoa (Game Of Thrones) as the lead, is currently wrapping six months of filming on the Gold Coast in preparation for a late 2018 release.
‘Delighted to be able to announce my involvement in Aquaman,’ McTavish said on Twitter.
‘Character has to be secret….for now. It’s going to be awesome!’
The Scottish actor is best known for his roles in The Hobbit (Dwalin), Preacher (Saint Of Killers) and Outlander (Dougal MacKenzie), but he’s also a renowned voice actor, lending his talents to Halo, Castlevania and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles this year alone.
Given his voice acting credits, many were speculating whether or not his character would be CGI or not, but McTavish confirmed to Supanova he had been filming in Australia alongside Momoa and co.
With that said, he wasn’t able to reveal much else about the ‘very, very secretive’ part.
‘They’ve probably got a sniper on me just incase I start to say anything about it,’ he laughs.
‘I honestly don’t know when they’ll officially announce it. They are famously cagey about this sort of stuff; some things they reveal and some things they don’t reveal, so we shall see.’
The exact role is anyone’s guess, but fans are already rooting for McTavish to play Poseidon on the big screen.
You can watch Jason Momoa in Justice League next month.
