Warren and Daniel look forward to meeting all their fans in Brisbane in November 2017.
They can be found at the Weta booth on Friday (1:00pm to 6:00pm), and throughout Saturday and Sunday (10.00am to 6.00pm).
One of the top special effects houses in the world, Weta Workshop has provided models, props and costumesto some of the best films in recent memory, including The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.
Now, two of their top minds will be on hand at Supanova to give fans insight into their techniques and practices. Join Warren Dion Smith and Daniel Falconer for a rewarding look at the intricate craftsmanship that goes into putting fantasy on film.
Warren Dion Smith– Hair/Make Up & Prosthetics Artist
An international award-winning hairdresser, Warren Dion Smith is passionate about creating magic through the medium of hair and make-up artistry. His work as a hair/makeup and special effects artist has seen him craft specialised wigs, prosthetics and props for the fantastical characters of some of the world’s biggest movies: from Peter Jackson fantasy epics King Kong and The Hobbit motion picture trilogy, to the likes of Elysium, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Superman: Man of Steel, and 2016’s Warcraft.
Daniel Falconer– Designer
Daniel Falconer has been with Weta Workshop since 1996. With a passion for world-design, he has contributed character, creature, costume and prop designs for The Lord of the Rings, Avatar, King Kong, the Hercules and Xena television shows, and The Hobbit, among other projects.
Daniel art directs Weta’s Middle-earth collectibles lines and writes books for the company; including The Art of District Nine, The World of Kong, Crafting Narnia, and the Hobbit Chronicles book series.
