Scott looks forward to meeting all his fans in Sydney and Perth in June 2018.
Scott will give a Q&A panel each weekend, and sign autographs on Friday in Sydney, and throughout Saturday and Sunday in both cities.
Further information on Scott’s panels will be listed in our Event Programme, released closer to the convention.
Comics were always a part of Scott Williams life. Growing up in the ’60s, he read and re-read his older brother’s copies of Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Batman and Green Lantern, with the occasional Archie thrown in for spice (Scott thinks Archie should have given Veronica the boot and settled on Betty once and for all).
Gradually, his love of the medium and an obvious artistic talent converged to help launch a career at Marvel comics. Filling a
need as inker, and occasional penciller, Scott worked on a number of books from Marvel’s main line-up (X-Men, Punisher) and soon after formed a studio and alliance with his old high school buddy (and Supa-Star alumni) Whilce Portacio, and rising star Jim Lee.
Homage Studios, as it was known in the early ’90s, produced some of the most popular and influential comics of its day, with
Scott inking both Jim and Whilce’s art, various X-Men titles in particular.
As part of a shift to independence, Scott joined his studio mates in a move from Marvel to the formation of Image comics. While there, he continued to work with the best creative forces in the industry on Image’s core titles (Wildcats, Cyberforce, Wetworks, Gen 13, etc.).
As Homage Studios evolved into Wildstorm Productions, eventually becoming a creative satellite studio of DC comics, Scott sharpened an artistic synergy with partner Jim Lee, and along with some of today’s best writers, enjoyed commercial and creative success on several DC icons. Batman’s Hush storyline and Superman’s For Tomorrow had memorable runs, as well as the debut issues for the New 52 Justice League.
Today, Scott is once again teamed with Jim Lee as well as Brian Michael Bendis for the historic Action 1000 lead cover story.
Over 30 years after entering the comic business, Scott continues to be thrilled and amazed that he hasn’t been asked to get a real job. An avid original comic art collector, Scott lives in San Diego with his wife, two boys, and insecure golden retriever.
