A veteran of the theater, Michelle Gomez has become an international fan favorite with her scene-stealing talent in multiple critically acclaimed television series.
Gomez will next be seen in the final season of the Emmy nominated series, Doom Patrol, airing on HBO Max in December 2022. She joined the cast in 2021 as ‘Madame Rouge’ for the show’s third season for which she got a Critics Choice nomination.
Other recent roles include HBO Max’s The Flight Attendant in which she plays the savvy, ‘Miranda’. The Flight Attendant received multiple 2021 award nominations, including Screen Actors Guild: Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, Critics’ Choice: Best Comedy Series, Primetime Emmy: Outstanding Comedy Series, and Golden Globes: Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy. She returned in the show’s second season in May 2022. Gomez also recently received praise for her role as ‘Madam Satan’ in the hit Netflix series, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
Gomez originally gained notoriety amongst television audiences from the long-running UK series, Doctor Who, in which she first appeared in the eighth season as ‘Missy,’ who was later revealed to be the female incarnation of the Master, the Doctor’s longstanding nemesis. She was nominated for a BAFTA TV Award for her performance on the show. Her additional television credits include the HBO comedy series, The Brink, and Fox’s Gotham, as well as the UK series, Bad Education, Psychobitches, Feel the Force, Green Wing (winner of the first BAFTA Pioneer Audience Award), Carrie and Barry and The Book Group, amongst many others.
In addition to Gomez’s television success, she has also appeared in many films including MY West with David Bowie and Harvey Keitel, The Wedding Video with Lucy Punch, Chromophobia with Penelope Cruz and Ralph Fiennes, the drama musical Subterrain, and New World Disorder with Rutger Hauer. She made her feature film debut in The Acid House, directed by Paul McGuigan.
Born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland, Gomez knew she wanted to be an actor from a very young age and trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
