Matt Kyme is a Melbourne-based comic book writer/artist best known for his work on The Phantom and creating That Bulletproof Kid, The Demon and The Wrath Of The Cursed. Matt has contributed writing and/or art to The Apparition, Bronwyn, Bullet Gal, Carmen, Cool Kids Punch Nazis, Deathship Jenny, Decay, The Flame: Re-Blazed, From Above, Gaining Velocity – Darker Forces, Gourmand Go, In Purgatory, Kung Fu Joe, Melbourne Comics Quarterly, Metcop Wonderland, Peter Pumpkinhead, Retro Sci-Fi, Tangos with Orangos, Tales To Admonish, The Phantom Bushfire Appeal Phundraiser, The Talking Bread and The Tobacco Stained Mountain Goat.
Matt has the distinction of being the first ever Australian writer/artist to have a full length Phantom story published in Australia. His Phantom stories, ‘A Day at the Races‘ and ‘Diana and the Heartbreakers Gang‘ were voted amongst the best stories published by readers in their respective years. His latest Phantom story ‘The Issue with Heloise‘ will be published in June. Matt’s work has been shortlisted for a Ledger Award and he has occasionally hosted ‘X-Band: The Phantom Podcast‘. To top it all off, Matt is one of the comic creators who share the Guinness World Record for the ‘Most Contributors to a Published Comic Book‘.
