Louie looks forward to meeting all his fans in Sydney in June 2019.
Louie will give a Q&A panel over the weekend, and sign autographs throughout Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Sydney.
Further information on Louie’s panel will be listed in our Event Programme, released closer to the convention.
Louie Joyce is an award-winning Australian comics creator and illustrator. After spending his childhood dreaming of becoming an astronaut, superhero, futuristic bikie punk, enchanted mermaid or something cool like that, Louie realised he’d been dreaming a little too long and most that stuff was impossible anyway. Luckily he can draw pretty well so he’s able to experience all those things and more by putting pencil to paper!
Louie creates comics where he handles every aspect from writing through stapling the book together, as well as collaborating with international writers and publishers on series and graphic novels. His latest comic, Haphaven (Written by Norm Harper, published by Lion Forge) was released in March 2019 to great acclaim. His other comics include Past the Last Mountain (Winner of a 2017 Silver Ledger Award), Astral and self published books Mishmash & Hodgepodge.
Louie’s illustrations have been exhibited internationally and he works with a wide range of clients creating illustrations for animation, publishing and concept development. He also teaches graphic storytelling and digital painting at Wollongong University and runs a variety of comics focused workshops for kids and teens. When he’s not drawing he’s probably at the beach with his family digging a giant hole in the sand.
