About Guest
Jean-Claude Van Damme, born 18 October 1960 in Brussels, Belgium, is an international action icon known as “The Muscles from Brussels.” A lifelong martial artist, he began training in karate and kickboxing at age 10, earning his black belt by 18. Combining athleticism, ballet, and discipline, Van Damme developed a unique style that would define his on-screen persona.
After moving to the U.S. in the early 1980s, Van Damme broke through with Bloodsport (1988), followed by a string of global hits including Kickboxer, Double Impact, Universal Soldier, Timecop, and Hard Target. His 2008 film JCVD earned critical acclaim, with Time Magazine naming his performance one of the year’s best. Beyond film, his viral “Epic Split” Volvo ad and Coors Light campaigns cemented his place as both a pop culture phenomenon and one of the most beloved action stars of all time.
