Jan Scherpenhuizen is a mainstay of the Australian comics scene, his work includes writing and illustrating the gritty horror graphic novel The Time of the Wolves, pencilling with Michal Dutkiewicz (Wolverine, Lost in Space) and inking Chewie Chan on Buckaroo Banzai 2.
He’s also done a slew of work with ace comics writer Christopher Sequeira with whom he has developed and created numerous properties including Mr Blood and the Catamorph. Recently he completed writing and drawing a 350 page novel-graphic novel-thesis as a doctoral project at Sydney University which will be released in a commercial format in 2024.
His short stories have appeared in the anthologies Sherlock Holmes: The Australian Casebook, Cthulhu Deep Down Under, Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Was Not, and Dracula Unfanged. He is also a contributor to the smash hit SuperAustralians for which he drew two chapters and the cover. Currently he is working on more projects for IFWG/IPI including book covers and a new 20 page expansion of SuperAustralians with Sequeira with whom he is working with again on a major property for IPI Comics; a former Marvel character!
