Jacqueline Sequeira first appeared in Australian mass media as the Bride of Dracula in Australia’s first real-life wedding conducted by a celebrant in the persona of Elvis Presley. This took place when she and husband Chris’ nuptials required that all the attendees be dressed in costume; the bride and groom taking the parts of the Count and Countess Dracula, flanked by Gotham City villain groomsmen and leading ladies-in-waiting of the golden age of cinema.
Jacqueline’s interest in genre and fandom has continued since then; with a many-year membership of Australia’s leading Sherlock Holmes Society, The Sydney Passengers, and she performed for that group’s theatrical efforts in one of the titular roles in The Merry Wives of Watson. Her first published writing was for The Passengers Log – that same society’s journal – when she co-wrote a piece on Sherlock Holmes’ connection to Wilkie Collins’ The Moonstone. She recently picked the pen up again to contribute to Nancy Holder and Margie Deck’s Sherlock Holmes of Baking Street, an anthology where Sherlockiana meets recipes (and she’ll happily sign copies of that tome at Supanova), and her newest effort is an exciting collaboration with renowned Sherlockian Philip Cornell, in IFWG Publishing’s Dracula Unfanged, in a tale wherein the Dracula mythos collides with classic detective fiction, which she’ll also be happy to inscribe at Supanova!
