About Guest
Helena O’Connor lives in coastal Australia where she can write with an assortment of flavoured coffees and a nice view of the sea.
Previously an academic in neuroscience research, her writing explores identity, relationships, philosophy, art, and ethics with regard to advancing technologies. She writes across fantasy, science fiction, and horror, with work that tends towards bittersweet themes, a wry sense of humour, and dark vibes with a dash of hope.
Her short fiction has been published in various anthologies and literary magazines such as Aurealis, Andromeda Spaceways Magazine, and Nature: Futures. Her work has been twice shortlisted for an Aurealis Award.
She also likes video games and cake.
