Georgina looks forward to meeting all her fans in Adelaide in November 2017.
Georgina will conduct a general admission Q&A, and participate in signing sessions throughout Saturday (10.30am to 5.30pm) and Sunday (11am to 5pm) in Adelaide.
Georgina Chadderton (aka George Rex Comics) is an Adelaide-based writer/artist of mostly autobiographical comics (with the occasional dabble in fiction). Her comics have been published in national and international comics anthologies and literary magazines. Georgina has appeared at both National Young Writers’ Festival and Emerging Writers’ Festival and was last year’s Banksia recipient for Adelaide Supanova.
She was one of the selected artists for the inaugural Comic Art Workshop in 2015 and is also attending the 2017 Comic Art Workshop in Indonesia. She has published several journal comics that document her experiences and feelings while travelling. Her other mini-comics are about topics ranging from favourite foods (pizza) and general life activities (playing Dungeons and Dragons) to childhood obsessions (Harry Potter).
In 2016 she received the Colin Thiele Creative Writing Scholarship through Carclew Arts to work on her first graphic novel: a memoir about growing up with a brother with severe autism. In 2017 she also received the Ian Wilson Memorial Fellowship through the May Gibbs Children’s Literature Trust, where she continued to work her graphic novel. When not making her own comics, Georgina runs comics workshops for other lovely humans.
