About Guest

Gabby Loo is an emerging artist and community arts facilitator. Her community arts project, Belonging, is an interactive platform for creative folks from CaLD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) and Indigenous backgrounds to share their stories and explore their identities and cultures.

Gabby’s artistic practice involves documenting and reinterpreting fragments from her personal history, identities and localities. Her work is of an expressive nature that bears the sentimental quality of past memories and thoughts.

Having recently graduated with a Fine Arts major from the University of Western Australia, she is currently focusing on drawing, comics, embroidery and community arts. Her work has been published in The Lifted Brow, Voiceworks, Djed Press and Pelican Magazine.

Gabby is also currently a gallery attendant at Paper Mountain, Committee Member of Deadline Arts and creator of the CaLD & ATSI Artists of WA Facebook group. In June 2018 Gabby will be a visual artist-in-residence at the Subiaco Theatre Festival.
