About Guest
DMETRI KAKMI is the author of The Dictionary of a Gadfly (as The Sozzled Scribbler), The Door and Other Uncanny Tales, Mother Land and When We Were Young (as editor). For 15 years he worked as a senior editor at Penguin Books Australia. He was also fiction/non-fiction co-editor for the online literary journal Kalliope X. His essays and short stories appear in various anthologies. His monthly column ‘101 Horror Movie Nights’ appears on The Drunken Odyssey literary website. Mother Land was shortlisted for the New South Wales Premier’s Literary Awards in 2008. Haunting Matilda was shortlisted for Best Fantasy Novella for the Aurealis Awards in 2013. His gothic novel The Woman in the Well will be published in 2025. He is currently working on a psychological crime novel called The Perfect Room.
