David Follett is a local comic creator and freelance illustrator. His award winning science fiction graphic novel debut Uncle Silas: GENETIS (Dark Horse 2010) garnered terrific reviews and his epic sequel, Uncle Silas 2: EARTH set almost entirely in the World Heritage listed Naracoorte Caves, is half way finished and you can become a supporter via his Patreon page.
David’s popular newspaper comic strips Harry the Dog – NewsHound and Kookabarry both ran in Sydney’s Sunday Telegraph for years and were nominated for several awards. Kookabarry also saw print in France’s immensely popular weekly comics anthology Le Journal de Mickey. David also illustrated the highly popular Paper Planes comic serial for SCOOP Magazine UK with the Etherington Brothers. David is also busy working on his YA fantasy adventure graphic novel Fia & Miguel and has several other comics projects bubbling away.
David has been with Watermark Creative since 2006 creating illustrations for editorial, packaging and publishing both locally and abroad, as well as storyboarding, visualising and character designing for television commercials, animation series and movies. His most recent animation storyboard credits include Jetpack Joyride, Figaro Pho, DeBLOB, Strange Chores, Little J and Big Cuz, Beep and Mort, Kitty Is Not A Cat, Monster Beach, Woody Woodpecker 2 as well as the live action Mortal Kombat movie filmed in South Australia. David was also Storyboard Lecturer with CDW Studios for several years.
David is currently busy working full time for Mighty Kingdom games company as a Senior 2D Artist creating Character and Environment concepts and designs.
