Carlo Pagulayan is a comic book artist from the Philippines known for his work with Marvel, DC Comics, Image, and Dynamite. His detailed illustrations and dynamic storytelling have made him asought-after talent in the industry.
He began his comics career with a three-page collaboration with writer Doug Petrie under Dark Horse, created as a tribute to the victims of 9/11 and in support of their families. This project opened doors at Marvel, where he went on to illustrate Elektra, Iron Man, Fantastic Four, and Emma Frost. His most notable work during this time was Planet Hulk, a critically acclaimed storyline that later inspired key events in the film Thor: Ragnarok.
In 2015, Carlo made his DC Comics debut as the artist for Convergence, the publisher’s major crossover event that year. This led to a successful run with DC, including his collaboration with writer Christopher Priest on Deathstroke: Rebirth, which earned an Eisner nomination. He later reunited with Priest for Superman: Lost, another Eisner-nominated series that further solidified his reputation in the industry.
Beyond interiors, Carlo continues to create cover art for Star Wars and its spinoffs at Marvel, and other major properties across various publishers, demonstrating his versatility and lasting impact in the world of comics.
