Bren Foster is an Australian actor and nine-time world champion martial artist in six different martial art disciplines, holding black belts in Taekwondo, Hapkido and Hwarang-do and Brazilian jiujutsu.
His deep understanding of the acting discipline, coupled with his unique martial arts skills makes in a ‘unicorn’ in the film industry – there are few people who can authentically combine these talents in the industry.
His versatility as an actor means that he can deliver standalone, powerful, dramatic narrative performances and unite them with highly complicated action story lines.
Foster’s film work includes:
• Deep Blue Sea 3 directed by John Pogue;
• Alpha Code directed by Keoni Waxman;
• Sci-fi features Osiris Child and Infini directed by Shane Abbess;
• Terminus directed by Mark Furmie;
• Force of Execution opposite Steven Seagal, Ving Rhames and Danny Trejo;
• Maximum Conviction opposite Steven Seagal;
• Shadow of Sin; and
• Played the character of Jamal opposite Rachel Taylor in the critically acclaimed Australian feature film Cedar Boys.
Foster’s television work includes:
• Series regular (SBS Wo-N Wolf Taylor) in five seasons of The Last Ship (HBO 2014 – 2018);
• National Geographic Channel’s 2-hour special Fight Science, and Discovery Channel’s Extreme Martial Arts;
• series regular role of Quinn Hudson in Days of Our Lives;
• recurring role of Lt. Cliff Bailey on the hit Aussie series Sea Patrol;
• Home and Away; and
• the award-winning police drama series East West 101.
In 2022 Foster wrote, directed, produced and starred in Life After Fighting, a martial arts drama feature also starring Cassie Howarth, Luke Ford and Annabelle Stephenson. The film showcases highly technical martial arts sequences designed by Foster, the likes of which have not been seen in Australian cinema.
