Anson Mount recently completely completed his 5-year voyage as Captain Christopher Pike on Strange New Worlds for which he also serves as Executive Producer.  Prior to that he garnered widespread media attention and critical acclaim for the same portrayal in Star Trek: Discovery. He is also widely known for his riveting performance as “Cullen Bohannon” on AMC’s hit series Hell on Wheels.

Mount recently wrapped the independent feature Kill Him ’Til He’s Dead and recently starred opposite Sir Anthony Hopkins in The Virtuoso for which he also served as producer. He made his feature film debut as Tully Coates, Jr. in the much lauded independent film Tully, which won several film festival awards and accrued numerous Independent Spirit Award nominations. In 2009, Mount produced and starred in Cook County, which the LA Times lauded as “Oscar-worthy.” Other film and television credits include Non-Stop opposite Liam Neeson, Mr. Right, Safe, Supremacy, The Forger, Straw Dogs, Pool Hall Junkies, City By The Sea, All The Boys Love Mandy Lane, and In Her Shoes.

Born in White Bluff, Tennessee, Mount holds a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Sewanee: The University of the South. Mount currently hosts and executive produces his own creativity-focused podcast, THE WELL, where he tracks down some of the most interesting artists, thinkers and innovators working today. He lives with his family in Nashville, Tennessee.
