About Guest
Ana is a Colombian-Australian visual storyteller with an eye for creating unique worlds and characters through illustration, visual development and comics. She’s the director of the boutique animation production company Karu-Karu, where she dreams and designs story concepts for projects officially selected in film festivals and markets.
She enjoys nurturing emerging artists as a mentor, university lecturer and as co-founder of the Australian illustration and animation community, Squish Squash.
Ana is interested in exploring themes like migration, memory, identity and neuro-diversity through visual poetry and is passionate about working in projects that delve into fantasy, poetry, children’s literature and magic realism.
Ana contributed amazing art to go with indigenous writer Jonathan Saunder’s amazing script in SUPERAUSTRALIANS, which is just released in trade paperback format at your comic shop or bookstore. Ana and Jonno created the street-wise superhero ROGUE HOST for that book!
