To our dear Adelaide Supa-Fans, we’re so sorry this isn’t the news any of us wanted today.
As many of you will be aware, major changes to state border restrictions were announced late last week, with additional details released across the weekend. Regrettably, these changes have presented an insurmountable barrier to the delivery of this weekend’s show, and it is therefore with great sadness that we must announce the cancellation of Supanova 2021 – Adelaide.
Disappointed doesn’t even begin to cover it on our end, so we can only imagine how our South Australian fans must be feeling right now. Our team has been working around the clock to try and bring Supanova to Adelaide in 2021, and up until the past few days, everything was on-track for another awesome weekend down south. Unfortunately, COVID had other thoughts on the matter, so as much as we would have loved to have seen you all before the new year, it’s simply no longer possible.
To those of you who have pre-purchased Admission Tickets, Autograph and/or Selfie Tokens, or Supa-Star Lunch Experiences, please rest assured that these will be automatically refunded by our ticketing partner, Moshtix, over the next few days. Exhibitors, please check your emails if you haven’t already, as you will have received instructions on how to apply for booking credits and refunds.
From all of us at Supanova Comic Con & Gaming; our Supa-Star guests who were so excited to attend; as well as our venue partner, the Adelaide Showground, thank you so much for all your support in the lead up to what should have been Novalaide, this weekend. The current year continues to be a hard slog for all events organisations, so your continued enthusiasm in the face of forces outside our control means the world to us. While this is FAR from how we wanted to ring out 2021, our team will now be working towards our 2022 calendar, dates for which are listed below.
In the meantime, Adelaide, we’re sending all our love and will be counting down the days until we get to see you all again.
