Library of the Unwritten
By A.J. Hackwith
Available Now!
I’ve always loved books about books, but this one takes a new twist that sounds absolutely epic! Down in Hell, there is a Library of the Unwritten, where unfinished tales are stored to prevent restless characters escaping their novels. It is up to the Librarians to track them down when the occasional protagonist gets out.
Claire is one such Librarian, who must team up with her assistant, and a demon courier to bring back a missing hero. Their quest takes a new turn when the trio are attacked by the fictional hero, who claims they’re holding the Devil’s Bible – a vital part of the power struggle between Heaven and Hell. Now their efforts don’t just impact the authors of unfinished novels, but the boundaries of Heaven, Hell and Earth too.

Havenfall
By Sara Holland
Available Now!
Havenfall is the story of an inn, hidden deep within the mountains of Colorado. For Maddie though, Havenfall is more than just a place to stay. This inn has been in her family for generations, and one day she hopes to take over as innkeeper. However, there is far more to Havenfall than meets the eye. Those who seek solace here come from neighbouring realms, and must abide by the treaty between worlds. So what happens when the treaty is broken?
I have been lucky enough to get an advance reading copy of Havenfall, and I can tell you this book is full of intrigue! The characters are wonderfully complex, and the story is alluring. Set in the dreary mountains of Colorado, this book has so much atmosphere, you can almost feel the rain on your face.
Havenfall is a perfect rainy day read, one that will leave you wondering: where to from here?

Chain of Gold (The Last Hours #1)
By Cassandra Clare
Available Now!
There is no doubt that this is my most anticipated book for the whole of 2020! Cassandra Clare never ceases to wow me, and I expect nothing less from Chain of Gold. The story begins in Edwardian London, where there has long been peace in the Shadowhunter world. But all that changes for James and Lucie Herondale, when the Blackthorn and Carstairs families come to London. James Herondale thinks that he is in love. Cordelia Carstairs wants to become a hero. Throw in an adventure, along with dark, incredible powers, and this book is bound to leave the reader hanging!
I’m so ready to be back in the Shadowhunter world. There is going to be action, heartbreak and fantastic friendships, I can already feel it. I can’t wait to see this generation of Shadowhunters. We know those before them, and those after them. But it’s going to be fascinating delving into these new characters!

The Vanishing Deep
By Astrid Scholte
Available Now!
Set in a world of sisters, secrets and the sea, is the much-anticipated novel, The Vanishing Deep. Tempe, who scavenges the watery world below her city for treasures of the past, hopes to use whatever she earns from her findings for an unusual service.
A research facility on her island can revive people after they have passed away. But only for 24 hours. For most people, this service is a chance to offer loved ones their last goodbyes. But Tempe has other concerns. She wants to revive her sister, Elysea, to find out how she came to be responsible for the death of their parents.
Rather than give answers, Elysea convinces Tempe to break her out of the facility so they can find out what really happened, together.
This book sounds so promising and I am sure it will be filled with adventure and thrilling twists!

The Lost Future of Pepperharrow
By Natasha Pulley
Available Now!
I nearly cried the day I first learnt there would be a sequel to The Watchmaker of Filigree Street, and came even closer when Pulley announced that Katsu is alive (if alive is ever the right word for a clockwork octopus).
Set in the late nineteenth century, The Lost Future of Pepperharrow will see Nathaniel and Mori travel to Japan, only for Mori to go missing, leaving Nathaniel stranded in a foreign land. Writing through the lens of Nathaniel’s synaesthesia, Pulley’s descriptions are vivid and unique. I’m beyond excited to see how she will apply this skill to describe the vibrant and exciting era that is Meiji Japan.

The City We Became
By N. K. Jemisin
Available Now!
The City We Became is the first book in a brand-new series by three-time Hugo Award-winning author of the Broken Earth trilogy, N.K. Jemisin. It envisions a world where every city has a soul; some ancient and wise, others new and destructive. New York City has five. But every city also has a dark side. An ancient evil stirs, threatening to destroy NYC and its protectors, unless they can come together and stop it.
N.K. Jemisin is the real deal – her Broken Earth trilogy, particularly the first novel The Fifth Season, was nothing short of spectacular. There’s a reason she won the Hugo Award for each book in the series, becoming the first author to win the award in three consecutive years – she’s just that good. This new series sounds amazing!

Night of the Dragon (Shadow of the Fox #3)
By Julie Kagawa
Release Date: Tuesday, 31 March 2020
After waiting nine months for the conclusion to Kagawa’s Shadow of the Fox series, I am so ready to jump back into this anime-esque fantasy, and find out what lies ahead for Yumeko and her companions.
We last left off on a massive cliff-hanger! The magical scroll Yumeko has guarded with her life for the past two books has fallen into the hands of evil, threatening to awake the Kami dragon and thus unleash chaos on the land. Their greatest hope? Teaming up with the ruthless Demon, Haikamono, who has fused himself with Tatsumi. Will Yumeko recover the scroll before it’s too late? And what of Tatsumi? Will he and Haikamono be locked together forever?
With so many unanswered questions, I’m torn between wanting to tear through the pages in one sitting, and wanting to stretch this last book out as long as I can! These characters feel like old friends now, and I’m not sure I’m ready to say goodbye…

But really, when it comes to March releases, there is one book that stands above the rest, that practically EVERYONE can’t wait to get their hands on…
House Of Earth And Blood (Crescent City #1)
By Sarah J. Maas
Available Now!
Any fantasy nerd worth their salt has devoured both the Throne of Glass and Court of War and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas. House of Earth and Blood is Sarah’s first foray into new territory since 2015.
Half-Fae, half-human, all party animal, Bryce Quinlan loves her life in Crescent City – until a ruthless murder shakes the very foundations of the city. Soon, Bryce finds herself dragged into the investigation, and paired with an infamous Fallen angel, Hunt Athalar, personal assassin for the Archangels. Initially they want nothing to do with each other, but soon they realise dark things that have been sleeping for millennia are beginning to stir. To get out alive, they’ll need to solve the mystery together.
Honestly, Sarah J Maas could write a grocery list and I would read the hell out of it. I loved Throne of Glass, and I’m really looking forward to meeting the new kick-ass girl on the block.

I pre-ordered House of Earth and Blood as soon as I was physically able to. Having devoured all of Sarah J. Maas’s books, with A Court of Mist and Fury standing as one of my all-time favourites, I’m desperate for new content.
Catwoman gave us a taste for how Maas will present urban fantasy – an otherwise new genre for her – and I’m excited to see her approach new mythical creatures (namely: angels and demons). I admit I have a soft spot for the odd fallen angel, so I’m already rooting for the romance between Bryce and Hunt, and their investigation into the deaths of Bryce’s friends appeals to my love of fantasy-crime novels. This book is already ticking all my boxes! I can’t wait to get my hands on it!

There has been a Sarah J Maas shaped hole in my heart since Kingdom of Ash concluded her Throne of Glass series a few years ago. So, I am MORE THAN READY for Crescent City to hit our shelves. Perhaps what excites me most though is that Crescent City marks the beginning of a new trilogy, and is Maas’ first time writing for an adult audience. I can’t wait to see how she decides to wow us this time round!
– Brooke, QBD Books Penrith, NSW
New York Times number one bestselling author, Sarah J Maas, is back to delight us with the first book in her brand-new Crescent City series, House of Earth and Blood. Sarah J Maas creates worlds that have the ability to transport her readers and captivate their imaginations, leaving them gasping for air and coming back for more. Think you will be able to put this book down? Think again!
