With just over a month to go until Supanova Comic Con & Gaming blasts into Adelaide (30 Oct – 1 Nov 2026) and Brisbane (6-8 Nov 2026), the countdown is on for the Fellowship of Fandom, featuring the likes of The Lord of the Rings Supa-Stars Sean Astin and Bruce Hopkins; The Hobbit’s Graham McTavish (Brisbane only), Jed Brophy, and Stephen Hunter; Highlander star Christopher Lambert; Resident Alien’s Alan Tudyk and Sara Tomko, plus so many more!
Unfortunately, newly confirmed production obligations have meant that previously announced Supa-Star Elijah Wood will no longer be able to attend this year’s events in Adelaide or Brisbane. But when Supanova calls for aid, Rohan will answer: The Lord of the Rings’ Rider of Rohan, Karl Urban, has signed on for an exclusive, Sunday-only appearance in Adelaide!

Rising to international acclaim as Éomer in the Academy Award-winning trilogy, Urban has gone on to star in some of pop culture’s biggest titles, including Star Trek as Dr. “Bones” McCoy, The Boys’ Billy Butcher, as well as the titular lead of 2012’s Judge Dredd. Most recently, he stepped into the role of fan-favourite Johnny Cage in this year’s action-packed sequel, Mortal Kombat 2.
Meanwhile, joining the Fellowship in both cities is Kiran Shah, the world’s shortest professional stuntman per the Guinness World Records, and Elijah Wood’s body double for the entirety of The Lord of the Rings series. Notably providing stunts for Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes, and Aliens as Carrie Henn a.k.a. Newt’s double, Supa-Fans are in for more than one star-studded reunion, with the stuntman guesting alongside Tarzan himself, Christopher Lambert, plus the recently announced Colonial Marines.
Also bringing stunt work to the forefront is Shane Rangi, best known to LOTR lovers for his work as the Witch-king. Appearing with Shah in The Chronicles of Narnia and The Hobbit trilogy, Rangi can otherwise be seen in The Wolverine, Pacific Rim: Uprising, and Taika Waititi’s Time Bandits.
Bob Morley at Supanova 2022 – Adelaide
From Middle-earth to Arkadia, Brisbane Supa-Fans will have the exclusive chance to catch returning fan-fave Bob Morley. Starring as Bellamy Blake in The CW’s award-winning series The 100, Morley recently received a Silver Logie nomination for In Limbo and now stars opposite Supa-Star alum Doug Jones in the upcoming sci-fi/horror, Another.
Morley’s not the only local legend slated to attend, with homegrown heroes Matt Doran (The Matrix, Star Wars; Brisbane only) and John Jarratt (Wolf Creek, What About Sal?) also added to the line-up, the latter of whom was previously scheduled only for Brisbane, now also in Adelaide.
These are just the latest Supa-Stars to be announced for ‘Novalaide’ and ‘Brisnova’. Supa-Fans won’t want to miss Star Trek’s Anson Mount, Rena Owen (Moana, Star Wars), ‘The Scoundrolls’ celebrity TTRPG group, along with countless more. Brisbane fans are advised to be on the lookout for even more surprises still to come, as further details are confirmed in the coming weeks!
