About Guest
Twin brothers Maarten and Manuel Bouw are an art and writing team who have formed DrawnOutDad.
Since 2013, DrawnOutDad has been tabling at numerous comic conventions throughout Australia, including the Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne Supanova conventions, Oz Comic Con Melbourne, Bendicon (in Bendigo), and regional events, and have held VIP guest status at Capricon Rockhampton in 2024, and 2025.
During these events we have promoted our Australian themed comic books, including the superhero titles Aussie Battler, Wombatman, and The Down Unders team book to high applause, as well as the all-age appropriate comedy series Fart Puppies.
In 2019 we introduced Spell Kitty, our all-age appropriate comic book about a magical kitten from London, which has grown to 12 issues, 3 graphic novels (which are now available in Collins Booksellers, All Star Comics Melbourne and King’s Comics Sydney, and various online retailers throughout Australia and overseas – including Walmart and Amazon, and Waterstones Books in the UK), with work commencing on a Spell Kitty novel – due for release in mid-2026. Maarten is also the host of a nightly YouTube channel, Aussie Comic Book Collector, which has over 800 subscribers.
Manuel was also an Associate Producer on the recent horror film, Bundy Manor, and the animated short film American Sikh.
