Ahead of his appearance at Supanova in Brisbane (7-9 November), Supa-Star Nolan North has given us all the intel you should know before meeting the legend himself!
How did you get your start in showbiz?
My career started in NYC doing theatre and stand-up comedy. After moving to LA, I spent 5 years on ABC’s Port Charles. Various film and TV roles followed, when I expanded into VO work. This led to lots of video game and animation jobs that became so popular that I get to visit Australia for Supanova!
Do you have any tips or advice for those who want to chase their creative ambitions?
Be an actor first. I meet a lot of people who say they want to be a voice actor. Don’t limit yourself. Do plays, do improv, take classes! Also, do it because you love it. There are a lot easier ways to make a living!
Out of your vast portfolio, are there any characters you would love to reprise and why?
Nathan Drake is the easy answer. That role was so important to me for so many reasons. Not sure it will happen though. Uncharted 4 had a great ending and wrapped the franchise up nicely. Other than that, Deadpool is always too much fun!
Who do you relate to the most out of the characters you have voiced and why?
Nathan Drake is the closest to who I am. Aside from the fact that he can climb just about anything!
What was your experience like working on Con Man with Supa-Star alum Alan Tudyk? Are there any hopes for a Season 3 or the long-awaited Con Man video game?
Con Man was the best on-camera experience of my career. It was short lived, but an absolute blast! I love doing comedy and Alan Tudyk is a genius. I’m not sure if we’ll ever do more, but if they do, I’m in!
Are there any projects you’re currently working on that you can share with us?
Black Ops 7 will drop in November. Dr. Richtofen is another one of my favourites and the fan base is amazing. Looking forward for them to play and welcome the OG zombie hunters back!
What are you most looking forward to at Supanova and why?
I’m most looking forward to seeing the fans at Supanova. They’re the reason we all travel for these events. I’m especially excited to visit Adelaide and Brisbane. They’re the only two shows I’ve never been to with Supanova and it should be an absolute blast!
Nolan North will appear at Supanova in Brisbane (7-9 November).
