About Guest

John Boyega is an award-winning British actor and producer who has captivated audiences worldwide with his powerful performances and inspiring personality. Born in London to Nigerian parents, Boyega discovered his passion for acting at a young age and dedicated himself to honing his craft. Boyega gained early recognition when he made his big screen debut in the sci-fiaction-comedy Attack The Block, directed by Joe Cornish. His portrayal of “Moses”, a charismatic teenage gang leader defending his neighborhood from extraterrestrial creatures, showcased his natural talent and screen presence. The film was an instant cult classic.

Following, it was Boyega’s breakthrough role in the globally acclaimed Star Wars sequel trilogy, directed by J.J. Abrams and Rian Johnson, that propelled him to international stardom. Starting with Episode VII – The Force Awakens in 2015, Boyega’s portrayal of “Finn”, a former stormtrooper turned reluctant hero, brought depth and humor to the character and quickly made him a beloved figure in the Star Wars universe. Boyega has also showcased his talent in a variety of film and television projects, including The Woman King, opposite Viola Davis and directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood; Abi Damaris Corbin’s Breaking; Detroit, for legendary director Kathryn Bigelow; Pacific Rim: Uprising, which John also produced for Universal Pictures and Legendary Entertainment; and the critically acclaimed drama, Imperial Dreams, for director Malik Vitthal.

Boyega can currently be seen starring in the highly anticipated Netflix film, They Cloned Tyrone, opposite Jamie Foxx and directed by Juel Taylor.

In recognition of his talent, Boyega has been honored with awards including a Golden Globe, a BAFTA, and Critics Choice awards. These accolades highlight his ability to bring complex characters to life with depth and authenticity and showcase his incredible range and skill.

In addition to his on-screen success, Boyega has been a vocal advocate by using his platform to address issues of racial inequality and injustice. His courage and commitment to social causes have made him a respected and influential figure, inspiring many both within and outside the entertainment industry. As a producer, Boyega has created his production company, UpperRoom Productions, which has inked deals with studios including Netflix and Paramount in the pursuit of diverse storytelling.

With his undeniable talent, magnetic presence, and dedication to his craftand community, John Boyega continues to establish himself as a force to be reckoned with in the world of acting. His passion for storytelling, coupled with his unwavering commitment to making a positive impact, shaped his career.
