The Tournament Is Coming To Supanova With ‘Mortal Kombat’ Stars En Route To Brisbane!

Written by Supanova Comic Con & Gaming - October 7, 2021Maddie Purdon

Supanova Comic Con & Gaming sets the stage for The Tournament, next month, with Mortal Kombat, Black Sails and Spartacus celebs en route to Brisbane (6-7 November 2021)!

Leading the charge are two of Outworld’s heaviest hitters: Mortal Kombat’s Nathan Jones and Daniel Nelson! A Former WWE wrestler, Jones has featured in some of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters, witnessable as the son of Immortan Joe, Rictus, in Mad Max: Fury Road and Reiko in Mortal Kombat. Nelson is best known for his sensational stunt work as Mortal Kombat’s Kabal (voiced by Damon Herriman) and recently lent his skills to Godzilla vs. Kong as Alexander Skarsgård’s stunt double.

The pair are joined by Black Sails actor Luke Arnold, promoting his urban fantasy novels, The Last Smile in Sunder City and Dead Man in A Ditch. Arnold recently made waves as Home and Away’s Lewis Hayes and received a Silver Logie for his role as Michael Hutchence in the INXS miniseries Never Tear Us Apart.

Speaking of Summer Bay, Home and Away fans won’t want to miss ‘Geoff Campbell’ a.k.a. Logie Award winner Lincoln Lewis! Featuring on Dancing with the Stars, Australia’s Next Top Model and more, this year sees the release of Lewis’ terrifying new film, The Possessed.

Also set to return is Todd Lasance, best known for his role as Julius Caesar in Spartacus. Since wrapping on the Starz mega-hit, Lasance has featured in fan-favourite series The Flash and The Vampire Diaries, and starred alongside Michael B. Jordan in Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse.

Hot on the heels of Evangelion: 3.0+1.01 Thrice Upon A Time, anime fans will have the chance to meet voice acting legend Spike Spencer, who reprised his starring role in the final installment of the iconic franchise earlier this year. Meanwhile, sci-fi fans can get to know Michael Kingma, who portrayed Wookiee General Tarfful in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.

Finally, Brisbane art lovers won’t want to miss Supanova faves Stewart McKenny and Anthony Christou. Beloved for his photo-realistic portraiture, McKenny’s artwork has graced the covers of prestigious comics such as Detective Comics and Doctor Who. Christou is the creator of the fantasy series, Luminous Ages, artwork from which can be found on licensed products sold at K-Marts across the country.

Tickets to the event are expected to be released shortly, with celebrity Photo-ops and Autographs to go on sale later in October. For all the latest guest news and event information, keep an eye on our social media channels!
