Eliza Taylor To Screen Powerful Documentary At Supanova Melbourne & Gold Coast

March 14, 2019Skye Bristow

It turns out Supa-Star Eliza Taylor is just as heroic and caring as her on-screen counterpart on The 100.

The Aussie actor has been extremely busy over the past few years, helping build a school on the small island of Koh Tao in Thailand with long-time friend Claire Wyndham, and the journey has been documented by local filmmaker Patrick Cotter.

The resulting documentary, Koh Tao Kids, will be screened at Supanova Melbourne and Gold Coast on Friday evening of the 5th and 19th of April, respectively. Those who hold a VIP, specialty or Weekend Pass will have access to the event for Friday night’s activities.

“Being a co-founder of this school with my best friend was an incredible fete,” Taylor said.

“Watching the kids thrive was more than we could have imagined, having the love and support of fans and generous people all around the world and getting to making a documentary? That was the dream. And we did it. From my family to yours, enjoy our documentary.”

Wyndham said the documentary has given them a “new voice” – one they’re excited for people to hear.

“We could never have imagined the interest and generosity our little school would inspire,” she said.

“My hope is that this documentary can motivate more people not only to talk about the importance of a good education in their world, but the huge difference a genuinely good education can make in the developing world and the children living in it.”

Koh Tao Primary opened in 2017 with the aim of changing the quality of education for Thai and Burmese immigrant children.

You can check out the trailer below, which also features a few snippets of fellow The 100 star and Supanova alumnus Richard Harmon.
