Word of a Percy Jackson series on Disney+ has been part of the rumour mill for quite some time, but now the original series author Rick Riordan has taken to YouTube to tell fans “the wait is over”, and that work on the new series has now officially begun.
Birds of Prey’s Mary Elizabeth Winstead has been added to the cast of Disney+’s upcoming Ahsoka series alongside Rosario Dawson, though it’s not currently clear which character Winstead is set to play.
C-3PO actor Anthony Daniels has taken to Instagram to tease his return as the fastidious protocol droid in a new behind-the-scenes photo of him in full motion capture gear. Which Star Wars project he is set to appear in still remains a mystery, though most fans suspect it will be related to the A Droid’s Tale animated special announced in December 2020.

The Lord of the Rings
Amazon has released the official title for its upcoming Lord of the Rings project, dubbed The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Proving that they’re sparing no expense, the streamer created the new title sequence using real molten metal. The series will debut on Amazon Prime on September 2.
Marvel Studios has released its new Moon Knight trailer, starring Oscar Isaac as the title character. The series is planned for a March 30 release on Disney+.
Marvel has finally released an official photo of all three Spider-Men together in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Following the special character reveals included in Hawkeye and Spider-Man: No Way Home, viewership records for the original Netflix Daredevil series began to spike, thrusting the series back into the top 10 most viewed original streaming programs.
With the countdown on to the release of The Batman, Warner Bros. has released the film’s official runtime which clocks in at a massive 2 hours and 55 minutes, making it the third-longest superhero film ever made behind Zack Snyder’s Justice League and Avengers: Endgame.

For fans of Peacemaker’s amazing opening credit sequence, HBO Max has released the full sequence online for all to enjoy some of the world’s most awkward dancing. Director James Gunn has teased some amazing things for the series finale, which he intentionally prevented HBO Max from sending out to critics in order to avoid potential spoilers leaking.
Finally, Paramount+ have rounded out January like ODSTs, dropping the second trailer for their upcoming Halo series earlier today. Featuring far more action and a closer look at series staples Master Chief, Cortana and the Covenant, this latest reveal is sure to have fans talking ahead of the series’ release on March 24.
