Is an established Actor/ Stunt Performer and one of New Zealand’s most experienced Creature and Motion Capture Performers.
Hailing from Ngati Porou in the North Island this Maori sportsman of Gisborne had to make a huge decision between his passion for rugby and his love for the arts when he was accepted into New Zealand Drama School (Toi Whakaari) while a promising rugby career was looming.
Needless to say the arts won out over sport and the irony being his very first job after NZDS was doing a solo haka for a 1991 Rugby World Cup Advert.
He did Theatre for many years but wasn’t until The Fellowship of the Ring was made that he made his break into Film and his career started to snow ball.
Shane’s largest acting role to date (as a human) was on Spartacus “Gods of the Arena” where he played Dagan. A Syrian recruited into the House of Batiatus along with Ashur and Crixus.
Other Credits include hits such as 2011’s Tintin, James Cameron’s Avatar and X-Men: The Last Stand all of which he did Stunts/ Motion Capture on.
He has appeared as onscreen as an actor as well as doing stunts and Motion Capture in all The Chronicles of Narnia films and all of The Lord of the Rings films as well! He is a talented performer and stuntman which make shim highly saught after and we can guarantee we will be seeing more of Shane in the future.
Shane looks forward to meeting all his fans at the Gold Coast expos exclusively in 2012 where he’ll be signing for FREE* at the Gold Coast Film Festival booth, Saturday (10.30am to 5.30pm) and Sunday (11am to 5pm) excluding breaks, in addition to a general admission Q&A during the weekend.
