What is the Supanova Pop Culture Expo?

Supanova Pop Culture Expo celebrated its 10th Anniversary in style in 2012! Every preexisting event climbed to new heights and we successfully added two cities to our programme resulting in six expos across three tours.

Our April 2012 tour saw our Melbourne from 14,400 to 16,300 and our inaugural Gold Coast event smashed all previous records for a first up event with 19,300 fans attending. The June 2012 tour saw Sydney claim back the crown of the most attended expo in our calendar as the audience rose from 23,400 to a whopping 28,400. Perth then kept pace by becoming our fasted expo to reach an attendance of 20,000 (in its 5th year although that’s a record the Gold Coast will almost certainly break in its 2nd year in April) with 21,100 compared to 17,500 in 2011. Meanwhile in November Brisbane drew a fantastic 27, 100 (up from 23,400 in 2011) while Adelaide had our historically second best opening foray with 9,200 fans.

Combined that was an amazing  121,300 fans for an average of over 20,000 between the six expos.

Further our online community has risen to approximately 47,000 fans on Facebook and 8,000 on Twitter that we’re able to share news, info, comps and cool stuff with throughout the year, not just during the expos.

Yet, even now as we enter our eleventh year of pop culture fun we often get asked, “what is the Supanova Pop Culture Expo?”

Here then is our answer; a video that seeks to explain something that over 120,000 fans experienced last year alone…

We hope you enjoy it and join us as we embark on our next adventures in pop culture together in 2013!

Huge kudos and appreciation to Bruce Moyle and Joffre Street Productions for what we refer to in-house as his “love-letter to Supanova”.
