QPOW! Queensland Pop Culture Week Smashes onto Gold Coast Calendar in 2013

Calling all cinefiles, film fans, cosplayers, trekkies and pop culture fans! QPOW! Queensland Pop Culture Week is set to explode on the Gold Coast from April 18-28.

QPOW! is an initiative of the Gold Coast Film Festival (GCFF) and the Gold Coast City Council (GCCC) working in collaboration with Gold Coast Tourism, Supanova Pop Culture Expo, Broadbeach Alliance, Dreamworld, The Arts Centre Gold Coast and Pacific Fair Shopping Centre and presents a week of pop-culture related events, staged at various venues, exclusive to the Gold Coast.

Major highlights of the 2013 QPOW! will include:

The Gold Coast Film Festival presented by Pacific Fair Shopping Centre with feature films and red carpet premieres at Birch Carroll and Coyle Cinemas plus free outdoor movies, film making master classes and seminars;

Supanova Pop Culture Expo where pop culture fans come face-to-face with the celebrities and creative talent from the worlds of film, TV, comic books, gaming and more;

Screamworld: Supanova After Dark, including a film screening and a DJ laser spectacular show;

Plus an Anime Art Exhibition at The Arts Centre Gold Coast; Supanova Cosplay Parade in Broadbeach led by the 501st Legion Star Wars Garrison; and a ‘Heroes and Villains’ Superhero sculpture display at Pacific Fair Shopping Centre.
